My most recent segment on the Today Show was about a poll we're running on BudgetTravel.com, asking people to vote on the cutest current zoo baby. Apparently, Kathy Lee, Hoda, and I seriously peeved the kind folks at the Cincinnati Zoo.

If you're at all interested in travel trends, this annual roundtable I do with the other leading travel magazine editors is pretty interesting. It's published each winter in Travel Weekly, and this year, my fellow round-tablers were from Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, USA Today, Afar, and National Geographic Traveler. 

My alumni magazine just published a piece about me. I have to say, it's hard to give up editorial control! But they treated me with kid gloves. . .

Listen to a segment I did on NPR's Talk of the Nation yesterday with Neil Conan. This summer: Car rental prices are down; the Euro is down; hotel rates are down. The only thing that's up significantly is airfare. Listeners called in with their suggestions about spots in their own backyard we should all visit. My favorite tip: splurge on your next road trip by renting a convertible. Helps spice up the potentially average drive.
